I was born in deep South Texas, McAllen to be exact. Living in this region put me in the middle of clashing cultures, the Mexican, American, and "Texican". The one thing that particularly evidenced that mixture was television.

I grew up watching television, both English and Spanish. Getting a taste of all the different types of genres one can tackle using video. When I got to high school I enrolled in a Media Technology class that I didn't leave until I was a senior. After graduating I began attending UTPA and simultaneously scored a job with the local CBS affiliate, KGBT-TV "Action 4 News". While my tenure there I learned so much in so little time...and it left me wanting to know more.

As you may have already clued in my passion is television...well video at that. But to be honest, it's the whole aspect of live production is what grabs my attention like nothing else. I enjoy lugging a camera around to sliding the faders on an audio mixer...or simply watching how a production tech program the cues in his light board.

Aside from having worked in news and having a passion for live productions, it's my respect and admiration for the Brits that I can't leave out. Some of my favorite pieces of work have being created by them. For example, Top Gear which is a "car show" produced by the BBC that not just relies on the wit of their three presenters but on crafting a film-like aesthetic of the show. Other productions to mention are three of U2's live concert DVDs, Live at Slane Castle, Elevation Tour and Vertigo Tour//Live in Chicago. All directed by Hamish Hamilton, a British director who was approached by U2 after he directed the "Brit Awards" in which they were impressed by how he made "television look like cinema".

Well, that has being a brief insight into who I am. Thank you for taking the time in browsing my site. Any comments, questions, and or suggestions can be sent using the e-mail form in the Contact Me section.
